We Are One Step Closer to Destroying America
By Ron Ewart, President
NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF RURAL LANDOWNERS

Please note that very few people are trying to get out of America. They are only trying to get in. Why? Because the "land of plenty" has morphed into the land of government handouts (abject socialism) and that is why they come here. We have become a magnet for the have-nots, the illiterate, drug pushers and the itinerant. Who pays for this insanity? We the producers and taxpayers do. Close the borders and drop the handouts, where the illegals could only subsist on their own wages, and watch illegal immigration come crashing to a halt. The taxpayer is subsidizing illegal aliens, while thumbing their collective noses at our laws.

It was bound to happen. The U. S. Senate has once again, after last years' failed attempt, addressed the travesty of illegal immigration that rewards lawbreakers with a pass to American citizenship in Senate Bill 1348. Amnesty, pure and simple. In a display of bipartisanship (read, Republican sellout) way too many Republicans joined with the Democrats, who never saw an amnesty bill they didn't like, to pass a comprehensive (amnesty) immigration bill. Sure there are some provisions to strengthen the borders, designed solely to bring some spineless Republicans on board, but the bill opens the door to millions of illegal aliens to stay in this country legally with "Z" visas and then gain a pass to American citizenship with some penalties ($52 per month for 8 years) with a few other application fees and some small hoops to jump through. Oh, and the breadwinner has to go back to his home country to get a visa. Sure!

But like so much of what the U. S. Congress does, it will be as flatulent in the wind. A brief scent of something, then gone. In the 1980's President Reagan gave amnesty to 3,000,000 illegals and created law to come down hard on businesses that employed illegals, to stem the tide. Well the 3,000,000 got amnesty but government enforcement of businesses never happened and the alien flow across our southern borders increased dramatically. The unintended consequences of that act of government omission is 13,000,000 more illegals and has emboldened many more illegals to cross into the land of plenty and start getting their share of the American dream, paid for by the American taxpayer.

Many illegals have been here for years, underground. What makes the government, or a sane person think that the illegals will risk exposure and maybe deportation to come out of hiding to get a "Z" visa and pay $5,000 ($52 per month) and other penalties, just to get citizenship papers. Businesses are hiding them (cheap labor), churches are hiding them (converts and tithe money) and sanctuary cities are hiding them (mis-directed compassion or exploited victims). They don't have to come out in the open to stay here. They are already here and being supported by a host of American enabler/traitors. Thousands more pour in every day.

If the legislation goes into effect, here are the unintended (or is it intended) consequences.

1. Most illegal aliens come from socialist countries and have a socialist mindset. They will vote socialist/Democrat. The two-party system will become irrelevant. The Republican Party will become impotent, if it isn't already. Many of these illegals come here feeling believing that America stole their land in the first place and they have every right to be here, even illegally. They have no intentions of assimilating into our culture.

2. Path to citizenship for breaking the law will embolden more illegals to flood into America and even with the current cutoff date, the U. S. Congress will move that date forward to accommodate more illegals as they join their families and troll for the largest government "pig trough".

3. Schools, hospitals, housing, health care and welfare support for the illegals will grow exponentially, as will taxes from the producers to pay for it all.

4. Bilingual education will be required to educate mostly illiterate itinerants. More costs. Huge costs.

5. Eventually, this powerful lobby group will demand that the Mexican flag flies over the U. S. capitol and because there are so many of "them", the Congress will have to give in.

6. Finally, the illegals will press for their own country in South Western United States, just like what is happening in Canada and other countries that try to live under multiculturalism.

Teddy Roosevelt said this about immigrants coming to America:

"In the first place we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the man's becoming in very fact an American, and nothing but an American...There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag, and this excludes the red flag, which symbolizes all wars against liberty and civilization, just as much as it excludes any foreign flag of a nation to which we are hostile...We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language...and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people."

Amnesty for illegal aliens will not create loyal Americans, or assimilation. But what it will create is a class of people who feel entitled, with little cost and hardly any responsibility. It will create those who believe that they are above the law and can get rewarded for lawbreaking. It flies in the face of the rule of law. It insults those who have waited and are waiting for years to get into America, legally. It will create a voting block of people who will join with other socialists in this country to get free handouts from government who will only be too eager to give it to them in exchange for their vote. Who pays? You and I do. But worst of all, liberty drowns in a sea of illiterate bodies.

Here is an illegal alien's "get-out-of-jail-free" card.
Get Out of Jail Free Card

Then, with their new-found political power, get used to the now legal aliens demonstrating in the streets for every sort of government benefit, or any grievance they deem appropriate. They will own the streets and there won't be one damn thing any of us can do about it.

Below our usual signature block is a speech by Governor Richard Lamm (Colorado) on how to destroy America. Governor Lamm doesn't want to destroy America himself, he just wanted to demonstrate to others how simple it would be. If you haven't already, please take the time to read it. It is absolutely prophetic.

Unfortunately, Senate Bill 1348 is a direct path to Governor Lamm's plan. If this Senate Bill, or anything like it, passes, you can kiss a Constitutional America, goodbye. We will have become the:

"Un-united Socialist States of North America".

Senate Bill 1348 should be re-labeled to read, "The Democrat's Establishment of Permanent Power" act, for what it really is.

"I Have a Plan to Destroy America"
Transcript of a Five-Minute Speech
Given in Washington, D. C. in 2004
by Richard D. Lamm, Governor, Colorado

I have a secret plan to destroy America. If you believe, as many do, that America is too smug, too white bread, too self-satisfied, too rich, lets destroy America. It is not that hard to do. History shows that nations are more fragile than their citizens think. No nation in history has survived the ravages of time. Arnold Toynbee observed that all great civilizations rise and they all fall, and that "an autopsy of history would show that all great nations commit suicide." here is my plan:

I. We must first make America a bilingual-bicultural country. History shows, in my opinion, that no nation can survive the tension, conflict, and antagonism of two competing languages and cultures. It is a blessing for an individual to be bilingual; it is a curse for a society to be bilingual. One scholar, Seymour Martin Lipset, put it this way:

The histories of bilingual and bicultural societies that do not assimilate are histories of turmoil, tension, and tragedy. Canada, Belgium, Malaysia, Lebanon ---- all face crises of national existence in which minorities press for autonomy, if not independence. Pakistan and Cyprus have divided. Nigeria suppressed an ethnic rebellion. France faces difficulties with its Basques, Bretons, and Corsicans.

II. I would then invent "multiculturalism" and encourage immigrants to maintain their own culture. I would make it an article of belief that all cultures are equal: that there are no cultural differences that are important. I would declare it an article of faith that the black and hispanic dropout rate is only due to prejudice and discrimination by the majority. Every other explanation is out-of-bounds.

III. We can make the united states a "hispanic Quebec" without much effort. The key is to celebrate diversity rather than unity. As Benjamin Schwarz said in the Atlantic Monthly recently:

... the apparent success of our own multiethnic and multicultural experiment might have been achieved not by tolerance but by hegemony. Without the mominance that once dictated ethnocentrically, and what it meant to be an American, we are left with only tolerance and pluralism to hold us together.
I would encourage all immigrants to keep their own language and culture. I would replace the melting pot metaphor with a salad bowl metaphor. It is important to insure that we have various cultural sub-groups living in America reinforcing their differences rather than Americans, emphasizing their similarities.

IV. Having done all this, I would make our fastest growing demographic group the least educated — I would add a second underclass, un-assimilated, undereducated, and antagonistic to our population. I would have this second underclass have a 50% drop out rate from school.

V. I would then get the big foundations and big business to give these efforts lots of money. I would invest in ethnic identity, and I would establish the cult of Victimology. I would get all minorities to think their lack of success was all the fault of the majority - I would start a grievance industry blaming all minority failure on the majority population.

VI. I would establish dual citizenship and promote divided loyalties. I would "Celebrate diversity." "Diversity” is a wonderfully seductive word. It stresses differences rather than commonalities. Diverse people worldwide are mostly engaged in hating each other-that is, when they are not killing each other. A diverse,” peaceful, or stable society is against most historical precedent. People undervalue the unity it takes to keep a nation together, and we can take advantage of this myopia. Look at the ancient Greeks. Dorf ’s world history tells us:
The Greeks believed that they belonged to the same race; they possessed a common language and literature; and they worshiped the same gods. All Greece took part in the olympic games in honor of Zeus and all Greeks venerated the shrine of Apollo at Delphi. A common enemy Persia threatened their liberty. Yet, all of these bonds together were not strong enough to overcome two factors . . . (local patriotism and geographical conditions that nurtured political divisions . . .)

If we can put the emphasis on the “pluribus,” instead of the “unum,” we can balkanize America as surely as Kosovo.

VII. Then I would place all these subjects off limits - make it taboo to talk about. I would find a word similar to “heretic” in the 16th century - that stopped discussion and paralyzed thinking. Words like “racist”, “xenophobe” that halts argument and conversation. Having made america a bilingual-bicultural country, having established multiculturalism, having the large foundations fund the doctrine of “Victimology”, I would next make it impossible to enforce our immigration laws. I would develop a mantra - “that because immigration has been good for America, it must always be good.” I would make every individual immigrant sympatric and ignore the cumulative impact.

VIII. Lastly, I would censor Victor Davis Hanson’s book “Mexifornia.” This book is dangerous — it exposes my plan to destroy America. So please, please — if you feel that America deserves to be destroyed — please, please — don’t buy this book! This guy is on to my plan.

“The smart way to keep people passive and obedient is to strictly limit the Spectrum of acceptable opinion, but allow very lively debate within that Spectrum.”
Noam Chomsky, American linguist and US Media and Foreign Policy critic.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ End of Speech ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There was no applause.
A chilling fear quietly rose like an ominous cloud above every attendee at the conference. Every American in that room knew that everything Lamm enumerated was proceeding methodically, quietly, darkly, yet pervasively across the United States today. Every discussion is being suppressed. Over 100 languages are ripping the foundation of our educational system and national cohesiveness. Barbaric cultures that practice female genital mutilation are growing as we celebrate 'diversity.' American jobs are vanishing into the Third World as corporations create a Third World in America — take note of California and other states — to date, ten million illegal aliens and growing fast. It is reminiscent of George Orwell's book "1984." In that story, three slogans are engraved in the Ministry of Truth building: "War is peace," "Freedom is slavery," and "Ignorance is strength."
Governor Lamm walked back to his seat. It dawned on everyone at the conference that our nation and the future of this great democracy are deeply in trouble and worsening fast. If we don't get this immigration monster stopped within three years, it will rage like a California wildfire and destroy everything in its path, especially The American Dream.
